Keep In Contact – SST Alumni Association
A Relational Platform for Prospective, Current, and Graduate Students
One Of Our Alumni Shares His Story
“A time of going deeper into theology and studies, preparing to become a pastor – and a time of deepening my prayer life”

The Alumni Association – A Relational Platform for Prospective, Current, and Graduate Students
The purpose of the Alumni Association is to “serve the alumni by offering information, programs, and activities that encourage them to fulfill their calling to be a beacon for truth and to expand God’s kingdom.” The Alumni Association’s chairman, John Horgby, believes that the network can play such a role, but not only for graduated students.
John Horgby, Chairman of SST Alumni:
“I want us to be a platform for prospective students who are curious about SST, for current students who want to discuss ideas for their theses, and to remain a forum for graduated students.” He describes it as a “relational” platform.
“We should be able to continue social exchanges, pray for each other, and share thoughts and questions. I am open to ideas, input, and suggestions on how to develop the initiative.”
John is a member of Agape Norrköping, where he preaches at Sunday services, teaches at the church’s Bible school, serves as one of the youth leaders, and helps practically in the church. He describes theological education at SST as important for engaging in theological debates and the exegetical craft.
What do you take with you from your time at SST?
“Relationships with Christian people in Sweden. My time at SST was important for me from a networking perspective. It is good and important for Bible-believing congregations in Sweden to know each other and maintain relationships.”
John Horgby hopes that this will be needed not only among graduated students but also by everyone studying at SST.
Social Exchange and Prayer Fellowship
“Many may view it as an unnecessary thing. The average Swede doesn’t have just *a little* on their calendar. But I want us to continue being a relational platform for prospective, current, and graduate students. There should be continued social exchange, prayer for each other, and sharing thoughts and questions.”
John Horgby, Chairman SST Alumni Association
“We believe in God’s Word, not in human philosophy or eloquence”
