Research Seminar
Our Faculty Gather For Research Seminars Every Other Week
Ongoing Research
The Scandinavian School of Theology has doctoral-level faculty in all theological disciplines, including New Testament Exegesis, Old Testament Exegesis, Systematic Theology, Church History, and Religious History, in its bachelor’s degree program.
Teachers, doctoral students with ties to SST, and senior researchers gather for research seminars every other week. Scientific articles, manuscripts from ongoing research, new literature, lectures, and webinars on current research-related topics are discussed and presented during these seminars.
Pedagogy That Trains Students for Independent Thinking
Most of our teachers are trained at Uppsala and/or Lund Universities, focusing on qualitative research. There are roots in the European university tradition with education as an ideal. Still, even deeper roots can be found in Wittenberg, focusing on the in-depth study of the Bible, which sparked the Reformation. SST also develops the “Oxford Model,” a pedagogy designed to train students in independent thinking and analysis.
Valuable Cooperation
For over 20 years, SST (and previously LOTS) has collaborated with Oral Roberts University and Southeastern University, the largest university connected to Pentecostal-charismatic movements. Through this collaboration, SST has been enriched by the pedagogical approach of the American university, which is both technological and practical, while proudly maintaining its Christian profile.
