Practical Training for Ministry and Life-Changing Encounters

The Bachelor of Arts in Ministry consists of theological studies and practical training in spiritual leadership at the SST Leadership Institute. The academic program corresponds to four years of full-time studies, which can be taken on a full-time or part-time basis. The practical component (offered by the SST Leadership Institute) has three meetings each semester and a one-week summer course with a retreat. Additionally, a practical and mentorship program in spiritual leadership parallels the academic studies throughout the program.

The practical training at SST Leadership Institute is also included in the Practical Pastor’s Program.

Spiritual Leadership

Spiritual leadership training is carried out in collaboration with spiritual leaders within the Scandinavian Pentecostal-Charismatic movement and runs alongside academic studies throughout the entire study period.

Each semester, three MiniCampuses are held in Uppsala, where experienced Ministers share their knowledge and prepare you for service. The program also includes a summer course focused on the Koinonia community and retreat.

We also help you find a local mentor who will coach you and follow your development throughout the program, guiding you during your internship. Leadership can only be learned one way: “learning by doing”.

Content of the Practical Component

• Anointed servants of the Lord share experiences of life and ministry – “ministry gifts that train ministry gifts”
• Lessons and workshops
• Topics such as pastoral care and church development
• Training in preaching and charismatic ministry

Practical Information

To participate in the practical training, you need to be enrolled in our Bachelor’s program, which can be taken full-time or part-time, or our practical pastoral and leadership program. Admission to the Leadership Institute is separate from admission to the theological faculty, meaning two applications are required.
