Doctor of Theology Göran Lennartsson

»I Am A Church Planter«

Göran Lennartsson is currently working on two book projects. One is a verse-by-verse commentary on Romans chapters nine through eleven. In it, Paul addresses problems in churches that are due to a lack of understanding of the relationship with Israel, the Jewish people. The precursor to the replacement theology that would permeate Christian theology a few hundred years later – that the Gentile Christian Church had taken over the role of the Jews as bearers of the covenant – had taken hold in Rome. He is concerned that the Gentile Christian branch of the congregation has an attitude toward Jews that is contagious —”attracts envy.”

The second book project is a biblical theology to show how the 66 books of the Bible have a unified view of salvation and a relationship with God. The challenge is to summarize and present the processes in salvation history and how they are connected. The starting point is that the Bible has its perception of its content and how it is held together. Jesus (Jhwh) is the active subject throughout the history of the Bible, and the Old Testament – and NT harmonize with each other. An intra-Jewish apostolic reading.
