Faculty of Theology<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Faculty of Theology offers both single courses and several educational programs;<\/p>\n

  • Bachelor of Arts in Theology with Pentecostal Profile, 3- or 4-year program in collaboration with Southeastern University, Lakeland<\/li>\n
  • Bachelor of Arts in Ministry, 3- or 4-year program in partnership with Southeastern University, Lakeland<\/li>\n
  • Master of Arts in Practical Theology, a professional degree that prepares students for pastoral or missionary ministry.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n

    Our Professors<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Most of our teachers are educated at Uppsala and\/or Lund University, with a focus on qualitative research. There are roots in the European University, with education as its ideal. Still, even deeper roots are found in Wittenberg, with its focus on the deep study of the Bible, which once started the Reformation. SST also develops the “Oxford model”, a pedagogy to train students in independent thinking and analysis.<\/p>\n

    Research<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Research is a prominent part of the theological faculty. We have Professors in all theological disciplines that are part of our Bachelor’s degree, i.e., New Testament exegesis, Old Testament exegesis, systematic theology, Church History, and History of Religions.<\/p>\n

    American Degree<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    SST (formerly LOTS) has partnered with Oral Roberts University and Southeastern University, the largest university affiliated with Pentecostal charismatic movements for over twenty years. As a result, SST has been enriched by the pedagogy of American universities, which have a strong educational orientation and a practical theology that combines academic theology and preparation for parish ministry.<\/p>\n

    Southeastern University<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Through collaboration with Southeastern University, Lakeland, Florida, USA, an accredited Bachelor’s degree, which corresponds to a Swedish Bachelor’s degree in theology, is possible. The Bachelor of Arts in Ministry includes training in biblical leadership and practice and a Bachelor’s degree.<\/p>\n

    Political Science As A Minor<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Political science is the science of politics. Politics plays a central role in all societies. It is about how society should be organized, which laws regulate social life, and which roles coercion and taxation should play. The Bible is a rich source of social ethics: norms and approaches for living together in a society. God’s order of creation and the commandments he has given us can be translated into both written and unwritten laws and form the basis of constitutional frameworks and political principles. By studying courses that are part of Christianity and politics 24 p, you prepare for political and social engagement on a Christian basis.<\/p>\n

    Christianity And Politics<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Christianity and Politics 24 p consists of six courses and offers an introduction to the various subject areas of political science. The courses focus mainly on the relationship between political ideas and religion in history and contemporary times. Christianity and politics can be a minor subject in a Bachelor’s degree in theology. Of course, it is also perfectly possible to read individual courses as a complement to other academic education and of personal interest.<\/p>\n
