MA Mattias Dufvevind
»My Passion Is To Combine Deep Academic Knowledge With A Practical Appeal That Inspires Both Faith And Understanding«
Mattias Dufvevind is passionate about deepening the understanding of the Bible’s texts and contexts. His journey began early in life when he met Jesus at 16. His interest in the New Testament grew from the beginning, particularly his passion for making Jesus come alive and understandable. He developed a deep commitment to the Gospels and the issues surrounding harmonization and chronology.
During his studies at Livets Ords Theological Seminary (now Scandinavian School of Theology) and the University of Gothenburg, Mattias earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in New Testament Exegesis. His Master’s thesis is titled Griesbach Rethought: The Synoptic Problem Reviewed. The Griesbach Hypothesis (Two-Gospel Hypothesis) Examined in Light of Ancient Compositional Book-Production.
Mattias is particularly interested in the literary and historical context of the Gospels, with a special focus on the synoptic problem and the interrelationships between the Gospels. He is a well-regarded teacher passionate about making complex arguments understandable and engaging.
Mattias lives with his wife and four children in Uddevalla. In his spare time, he enjoys creative projects related to theology and history. He loves playing games, spending time with his children, watching movies, and socializing with good friends. His involvement with the local church, Salemkyrkan in Vargön, is strong, and he holds lectures through text-based Bible studies, shedding light on the Jewish background of the New Testament.
He also works with children by leading devotions and games with other leaders. He is deeply committed to apologetics and issues concerning the relationship between science and faith.
