Gerald McDermott is Distinguished Professor of Theology at Jerusalem Seminary and Distinguished Professor of Anglican Theology at Reformed Episcopal Seminary in Philadelphia. He retired in 2020 from the Anglican Chair of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School.
McDermott has authored, co-authored, or edited two dozen books and hundreds of academic articles. His scholarship has focused on Jonathan Edwards, world religions, and theology of Israel. His Theology of Jonathan Edwards (with Michael McClymond; Oxford University Press, 2012) won Christianity Today’s 2013 award for Top Book in Theology/Ethics. His most recent book is A New History of Redemption: The Work of Jesus the Messiah Through the Millennia (Baker Academic, April 2024).
