Boris Havel earned a B.A. in International Relations and a B.A. in History at Oral Roberts University/Livets Ord University in Uppsala, Sweden, M.A. in Comparative Religion at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel and Ph.D. at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Political Science with the thesis Religious Aspects of the Arab-Israeli Conflict.

He works as Associate Professor at the Department of Comparative Politics at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He is author of three books and more than a hundred articles on topics related to Oriental studies, Middle East, Zionism, Israel, Islam, Christian-Jewish and Muslim-Jewish relations.

Courses he teaches in English and Croatian are:
• Religion and Politics in the Middle East (Faculty of Political Science, graduate course).
• Middle East and Israel (Faculty of Political Science, graduate course).
• Oriental Jews and Arabs in the time of Zionism, (Faculty of Political Science, undergraduate course).
• Modern Israel: History, Politics and Theology of Jewish Statehood (Croatian Catholic University, undergraduate course).
Havel is authorized translator for Croatian, English, Hebrew, and Swedish language.
